Petition Presented to Commission for Jesse and Milton Rawlings.
Atlanta Ga., May 10— A petition for the commutation of the death sentence to life imprisonment for Jesse and Milton Rawlings was filed with the Prison Commission this morning. It came from Hon. J.A.J. Henderson, of Ocilla, President of the Ocilla & Valdosta railroad, and contained seventy-five signatures of Irwin country people.
Attorney Cooper will be here next week, and it is said that he will bring a monster petition to lay before the Prison Commision for its consideration on behalf of the condemned young men.
