Rawlings-Moore Case

J. G. RAWLINGS STILL TALKS AND ADDS TO HIS STORY

He Sent for a Number of People

Yesterday, J. G. Rawlings sent for a number of people to whom he told the story that was printed in The Times with some additions. Rawlings has had very little time to grow weary of his confinement in jail this week. He has had a number of callers, and he has prayed with all of them. It is said that he came here this week for a chance to meet them.

This statement is the same that appeared in The Times on Monday. It was a confession that he employed Alf Moore to kill W.L. Carter, with the denial that anybody was with Alf when the children were killed. At least, he denies that his boys were with him.

Rawlings goes a little further with his statement and says that other white men in that section and at Hahira knew of the plans to “put Carter out of the way.” He intimates that they made no objections to the plans, even if they did not approve of them.

He refuses to give any names and says that he would die before telling who they were.

Rawlings and his sons are anxiously awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court regarding their case. If that decision should be against them, many people believe that the boys will have something to say.
